SS03 Sculpted Bustier Dress
Yohji Yamamoto Spring/Summer 2003 Sculpted Bustier Dress in Black
The Sculpted Bustier Dress is an asymmetric, maxi-length silhouette crafted from a fluid wool-blend pinstripe suiting fabric. Originating from the runway, the dress is defined by a corset-inspired, fitted torso achieved through knife pleats at the abdomen and a continuous metal wire piped through the upper bust panel, allowing the wearer to manipulate the shape and volume to create an organic, ruffled bodice. Additional details include a single asymmetrical shoulder strap, a concealed side-zip closure, and an uneven, layered hemline.
